Registered (via US Department of State and Foreign Ministry of Latvia) as the Republic of Latvia's representative to the State of South Carolina. The function of an Honorary Consul is to promote linkages between the appointing nation and the designated jurisdiction and to safeguard the interests of residents and visitors holding citizenship in the appointing nation while they are in the jurisdictional area. In this regard, a Consulate is a regional representative of the Embassy and government of the appointing nation.
